I’m fundraising for Breakthrough T1D to defeat T1D!

I was diagnosed in 2019, and struggled fitting back in having something new. Type 1 can become a serious burden, especially on a developing person such as a teen. Trying to find a balance between my school, social and work life is draining. My hope is that one day there will be sufficient treatment to make living with type 1 either easy or completely eradicate the disease all together. JDRF helped me when I needed it the most, so this is my way of giving back, and one day say I contributed to the cure for type 1.

My plan is to take every donation and walk for it. Donations can be made up until the end of September, but donations made after the 1st will not count towards the step goal. This is because September holds my diagnosis date.. Throughout the month, I will be walking each day for every donation. Every $10 mean I will walk 1km.

World Diabetes day is the 14th of November, and National Diabetes Week is the 12-18th July in Australia.

Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 7 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
