My Story
I’ve been a Type 1 Diabetic for 23 Years now! Wow! How time flies!
I have not been the best Diabetic, and have struggled immensely in my journey to manage my T1D. I have recently made a lot of headway in improving my management of my T1D, and have only 1 week ago accomplished a 26hr period of 100% in normal range!
Rewinding about 7 months, I finally came out of a really hard time with my management of my T1D. I would say looking back I have been in T1D burn out for on and off about 10 Years!
15+ years ago, I cycled everywhere before I had a Driving licence, and I enjoyed it. Lately I have been looking to get more back into cycling. At the beginning of the year I realised i was not as fit as I would like to be, and joined a gym. I had been slowly attempting new things at the gym, as we as recently attending 2 of the One Walk events for Breakthrough T1D. When speaking with one of the organisers, and mentioning some of my goals to do a charity ride to raise money for T1D research in the future, they mentioned this ride. I was hesitant at first (finding out with only 6 weeks till the ride), but decided to go all in, and really put in my all to try achieve whatever I can accomplish in this amazing 140km challenging ride!

I’m riding for a future without type 1 diabetes (T1D), cycling from Glebe Park in Bowral to Gawi Picnic Shelter on Sunday, 4 May 2025!
Why? To help fund life-changing research aimed at improving lives and curing T1D.
