Cycling to turn type one into type none!

I’m riding for my daughter, and to raise much needed funds for life-changing research into improving the management of, and towards a cure for, Type 1 diabetes. 

Type 1 diabetes is a genetic autoimmune disease, and can be diagnosed at any time. Each day 8 Australians are diagnosed, and such a diagnosis is a life changing event requiring ongoing dedicated (and often complicated) management. 

People living with Type 1 diabetes make up to an additional 200 decisions per day regarding their health compared to those without the condition (decisions such as insulin doses, glucose monitoring, exercise management, carbohydrate counting, and so on). 

Medical research and technological advances have already hugely improved the management of T1D,  drastically reducing the risk of life threatening complications of the disease. But there is so much more to be done, both for management, and ultimately for a cure of T1D.  

Every dollar counts, and every dollar changes the lives  of those living with T1D.
