Our little superhero, Wyot, is now 4 years old. In February this year, our world changed when he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
In the blink of an eye, his childhood became filled with carb counting, insulin doses, managing blood sugar highs and navigating scary lows. His little body now carries the reminders of this condition, with scars from CGM and pump sites that help keep him safe every day.
Some of the hardest moments are the conversations with our 4-year-old when he says, “I don’t want diabetes anymore,” and we have to explain something so big and overwhelming — that this is something he has to live with every day.
That is why we are coming together to raise vital funds for Type 1 Diabetes research. We hope that through awareness, support, and research, one day children like Wyot won’t have to live with this condition.
