I’m fundraising for JDRF to defeat T1D!
Jacob is my 13 year old superstar who faces daily challenges living with Type 1 Diabetes - He inspires me everyday and now it is my turn to challenge myself.
Jacob was diagnosed when he was 2 years old and living with type 1 diabetes is a constant challenge for him.
It requires a never-ending cycle of blood sugar monitoring, insulin dosing, and careful management of diet and exercise. Always thinking about dietary choices and the possible consequences if we get it wrong can be overwhelming causing stress and anxiety.
Even with the best medical care and management tools available, there are always unexpected highs and lows in blood sugar levels that can have serious consequences if not managed properly.
The physical and mental toll of living with type 1 diabetes is EXHAUSTING.
That's why I have decided to start a fundraising campaign to raise awareness and funds for JDRF.
So what am I proposing to do you ask?? Let me start with I HATE RUNNING....and that is why I chose this as my starting point.
Living with Type 1 is a 24/7 challenge which takes a physical and mental toll, so I am planning to emulate this by completing the JDRF 5 / 5 / 5 Challenge.
I will run 5km , 5 times a day for 5 days (25km a day, 125km total). The frequency of the runs will be spready evenly throughout the 24 hr period.
My Run Schedule will be 7.30am, 12pm, 4.30pm, 9pm & 2.30am which I will do for 5 consecutive days. YIKES
I don't like running, I am not good at running and I need my sleep; this will test me physically and mentally so I ask that if you are in a position to DONATE, please do to help me raise my Target of $10,000
