Upping the target

Thank you so much for donating and what a humbling and pleasant surprise to see all your names and generosity!

I’ve decided to increase the target amount to see what impact we can make.

I’m so grateful to those of you who’ve donated already: I’ll be thinking of each of you when I jump from the plane and want you to know you’re making a meaningful difference to the lives of kids with or at risk of developing Type 1 xx

Why jump?

I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 12, so I’ve lived with it for almost 30 years!

In that time the technology has changed immensely. I began injecting myself with insulin 4 times a day and doing finger prick tests in between needles.

These days I have an insulin pump, which delivers the insulin. And my blood sugar levels are read every 5 mins with a CGM (the little white dot you see on my arm). The CGM talks to the pump.

None of this tech would have been possible without the research of organisations like JDRF, but they need funds to do this. 

They’re researching to find ways to better predict a person will get Type 1, to find ways to prevent people getting it at all, and one day they might even find a cure for veterans like me. 

Every dollar counts and I’d be eternally grateful if you could support this cause for the sake of all the little kids we can avoid ever having to get diabetes.

I'm jumping for a great cause!

I'm jumping out of a plane to support JDRF in their mission to find a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D).

T1D can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy. JDRF is the largest funder of T1D research in the world with a vision to create a world without T1D.
